here are some photos i took yesterday. after i took these, i worked on making copper oil lines. almost done. next will be wiring and gas lines.

December 7th - Big Catch Up Post

ok folks, so here's a big post to catch everyone up to where i am on this. basically, i have the bike mostly done. there are just a few small things i need to do, and i need to wire the bike, then i can start it finally.

i entered it in the Yokohama Hot Rod & Custom Show this past Sunday with Tomo's garage, Bike Garage Kokoro. we had a lot of fun and quite a few people seemed to like my bike, so i was happy. thanks Tomo!!!

well, here's what i've done...

これは最近出来たことを全部ポストする為のポストです。基本的にバイクを完成した。残っている所はほとんど小さい所、そしてワイヤーなど。それ終わったら、エンジンの音を聞くこと出来るかな〜？

この前の日曜日にトモさんのバイクガレージ心と一緒にYokohama Hot Rod & Custom Showに出した。楽しむこと色々ありました。そして、色々の人は私のバイクを好きだったみたいですので、とても嬉しかった。有り難うトモさん！！！

さあ、今まで出来たのは...

seat pan done and covered with foam rubber.

シートの鉄板を作って、そしてゴムを付けた。

leather cut, design stamped, and ready for dye.

革を切って、デザインをスタンプして、黒くする準備が終わりました。

dyed, laced, and mounted.

黒くした後、レースして、フレームに付けた。

frame painted.

フレームをペイントした。

first attempt didn't quite work out like i wanted, but a quick photo before wiping it off.

一回目は失敗でした。それでも写真撮りました.

二回目の準備。

second go round. still not what i had in mind, but a fortuitous accident. i liked this better than what i had planned.

二回目。まだ計画とちょっと違うですけど、計画より好きでした。いい偶然でした。

and ready for the show. you can't see it much here, but Sugisack (Sugisack Studio) laid down the best pinstriping and gold leaf i have EVER SEEN for me. simply amazing, i've got to get some more photos to show.

それで、イベントの為の準備が終わりました。この写真で余り見えないですが、Sugisackさん（Sugisack Studio)はこのバイクに今まで見たことあるピンストライプの中で一番最高なピンストライプとゴルドリーフを入れてくれました。本当に感動的です。もっともっと写真をポストするべき。

of course i have to give a shout out to my Dad and brother for helping all along the way. and Tomo has helped me in more ways than i can even begin to mention. you guys rock!!!

もちろん私のお父さんとお兄さんにも「有り難う！」と言うべき。最初から今まで色々で手伝ってくれました。あとトモさんも、手伝ってくれた方法は数えられないぐらいです。あなたたちは最高です！

wow! i'm actually posting 2 days in a row! amazing, huh?

すごい！二日間続けてポストしているんだ！すごくない？

here are some shots of the girder a few days ago. at this point, it was pretty much finished except for the shock mounts and headlight mount. i got all that stuff done too, but i'll post those pics later.

これは数日間前のガーターフォークの写真です。この写真取った時にショックマウントとヘッドライトマウント以外にほとんど終わりました所です。今マウントも完成したがその写真はまた後でポストします。

November 2nd

just a couple of quick progress pics tonight. i've actually made quite a bit of progress recently, but i'm only gonna post a couple of pics per night.

今日は数枚だけ。最近かなり進んでいますが、毎日少しずつ写真をポストします。

first, we have the oil tank, gas tank, and rear fender in the first coat of primer.

これは最初のサーフェサーを付けた後のオイルタンク、ガソリンタンク、とリヤーフェンダーです。

i wonder if i can get this puzzle back together??? actually it's already mostly back together, but no photo yet.

やべえ〜。このパズルをちゃんと直せるかなあ〜？本当のこと言うと、もうほとんど終わりましたが、写真はまだです。

Day - Oh, Who Knows???

enough with the day thing, already. i'm back at work, so it doesn't matter much. the new goal is to have the bike ready in time for the Yokohama Hot Rod & Custom show on Dec. 5th.

〜日目のことはもういいですね？仕事へ戻ったから余りそんなに関係ないですね。新しい目的は１２月５日の横浜のHot Rod & Custom Showまで仕上がること。

i need to get caught up on some posting. here are a few from the last couple of weeks. i've really got more done, just no photos as of yet.

ポストするのがちょっと遅れていますね。これは二週間前ぐらいからの写真です。本当はこれよりもうちょっと進んでいますが、写真忘りました。

i got the foundry cement for my foundry poured. the cement is now curing and i should be able to fire it soon!

耐火セメントの作業もう終わりました。セメントが完全に乾いたら、火を付けるぞ！

and here are the rear sections of the girder legs, bent and tack welded. actually they are completely welded in now, but i don't have a photo. all that remains is to weld on the shock mounts, caliper mounts, and lower pivot shaft, and it will be done!

この二枚の写真はガーターフォークの足の後ろの部分を溶接する所です。本当はもう溶接終わりましたが写真忘りました。今から残っているのはショックのマウントとキャリパーのマウントと下のピボットシャフトの

溶接だけで、フォークが終わります！

Day 90

last day before i go back to work. here's what i finished.

仕事へ戻る前の最後の日。この作業をしました。

sanded on my pipes.

パイプをもうちょっと奇麗にした。

got my oil tank and gas tank ready for the first primer coat.

オイルタンクとガソリンタンクにサーフェサーを付ける準備を終わりました。

lower yoke is finished (thanks for the welding Tomo!) and both yokes are on the bike.

下のツリーを完成した「溶接有り難うトモさん！」。そしてツリーはバイクに付けた。

got the jig done for building the girder legs. got the front parts of the leg and pivot shaft clamped in and spot welded.

ガーターフォークの足を作る為のジグを終わりました。足の前の部分とピボットシャフトをジグに入れて、点付きの溶接を終わりました。

drew out a guide for the rear portion of the girder legs.

ガーターの足の後ろの部分の図を書きました。

and last, i got the handle for my jockey shift arm finished.

最後に、ジョキーシフトのハンドルを完成しました。

now i will be back at work, so i will only have some weekend and evening hours to work on the bike, but i hope to finish it by the end of October. let's see what happens.

もう、仕事に戻りますので夜と週末の数時間しかやれなくなちゃいますが、できれば十月末まで仕上がりたいと思います。頑張ります！

Day 87

the vacation is almost over. i'm racing to get done all i can before i go back to work.

休みはもうすぐ終わります。出来るだけ、仕事へ戻る前に出来る所やりたい。

i got the top yoke finished. Tomo finish welded the yoke for me. he is just an amazing welder.

上のツリー終わりました。ツリーの溶接はトモさんにやって貰いました。彼の溶接はすばらしい！！！

and started making a kicker arm. i cut a block of steel, drilled 4 small holes for the corners, then drilled the center out as close to the final size of the square as possible, then filed it until it was square and fit on the shaft on the transmission.

そして、キックアームの作成。スチールを切って、角の所に４つの小さい穴を開けて、そしたらセンターは出来るだけキックシャフトの四角の大きさと同じ大きさで穴を開けた。次はヤスリで四角を奇麗に切って、シャフトの大きさに会わせた。

finished my rear brake rod.

リヤーブレーキロッドを終わりました。

and the next day i drilled and threaded the block for the kick arm, cut a slot in it, and welded it to the upper portion that i had made previously.

次の日に前のスチールブロックをドリルして、ねじを切って、スロットを切って、そして前に作った上の部分に溶接しました。

also got the paint on my transmission stripped and the ear for the bearing support cut off so i can use it for my knucklehead.

さらに、ミッションのペイントを取りました。そしてこのミッションを私のナックルヘッドと使う為にベアリングサポートを切りました。
